A quality professional detail can maintain and add value over the life of your vehicle. Whether you are looking to sell your car, preserve a classic, or protect a new purchase, a detailing service adds substantial value beyond just a "one size fits all" automatic car wash. Let's explore how much a detailing service should cost, but first, why it's important.
The why Behind How Much A Detail Costs
The thrill of driving off the lot in a newly purchased car is great, but most people know that what they just purchased has immediately depreciated the moment they merge into traffic..

Check out this statistic from Lending Tree,
a brand new car usually drops about 20% in value after one year. And after five years, it will often be worth about 60% less than what you bought it for.
Some cars can be significant investments, but most of these are classics or already have some sort of cult following which is driving the value up. So how can you maintain the value of your car if it's not a collectors dream car?
Well, you could park it in a warehouse or garage in Southern California, never drive it, and hope that one day it will have a cult following. Most of us will not do that though. What we can all do is simply take care of our cars with regular maintenance and care. One day you might be surprised with the value of your car and in the meantime you''ll have a vehicle that is well cared for.
If you do have a classic or collector car you can also help protect that investment by having it professionally detailed.

This Corvette had heavy water spot damage from a broken fire sprinkler. By treating the water spots and paint correcting and polishing the clear coat we were able to fix the damage and bring back clarity and shine to this owner painted car..

How often?
How often you choose to have a detail can very for different reasons. At Kazé Detail we recommend customers to schedule a Full Detail twice a year. In Missouri we have every season and some weeks throughout the year we can experience four seasons in one single week.. In the winter time you can expect road crews to lay salt down for icy and snowy weather, heavy pollen settles on cars in the spring and fall months, and in summer hard ultraviolet rays damage the clear coats of untreated paint.
Pro Tip
We offer a Membership where you receive 2 interior and exterior cleanings a month and 20% off of all other detailing services. This is a fantastic way to protect your car all year round.
The Cost
The cost of detailing varies, and several factors can influence the price, such as size and how dirty and what kind of dirt and stains the vehicle might have. Other factors might range from the kind of materials the interior features. the kind of paint the vehicle has (how soft the paint is or how thin the clear coat might be while polishing and paint correcting.) These are all factors that a detailer will consider.

It boils down to estimated time. When you hire a detailer you are paying for high quality products, knowledge and experience, and the time it takes to do the job. Most people may not have 4 to 8 hours to tackle their car. A professional detailer does and he or she has the experience and knowledge for your car.
One of the most beneficial reasons to hire a detailer is they will cater the services to your car and will take the time to meticulously clean and protect it. So it will stay looking new for a long time to come. That's something an automatic car wash simply CANNOT do.
At Kazé Detail we have a standard price for every service except larger jobs, like boat and airplane details and ceramic coating. These prices have been nailed down through testing and refining as well as carefully evaluating the time it will take to do an amazing job on your vehicle..
